There are various ways to get a personality for new fixtures:

The central point to get the most recent personality library is http://personalities.avolites.com/ - this library is frequently updated. Here you can also request new personalities, and can browse the library. More often than not you'll find that a certain fixture already exists under another name, by another brand. In order to update your personalities, download the package for your console, run it on the console - which will copy all the files to their correct folders - and restart Titan. That's all.

It is paramount to provide verbose information when requesting a new personality: the better the info provided the better the personality is. If there are only roughly guessed values then the personality can only reflect this.

This is by far the best way to get new personalities, for various reasons:

• as it is a centralised approach all the personalities follow the same rules and standards, e.g. it's always the same wheels which are used to adjust a specific parameter
• this is essentially the only way to get the personality capture-ready so that the fixture is also visualised in capture
• the newly created fixture is available to everyone, and is maintained in the future as well, e.g. if new attributes need to be stored in the library for future software releases

Turnaround time for new personalities is usually very few days - often the new personality is made available the next working day, and the capture personality follows few days later.

Please note that currently the personality library is provided as separate downloads for various versions of Titan: while the Titan part is always the same, it is the Capture part which differs. Various versions of Titan have different versions of Capture integrated - and these require different Capture personalities.

Another source of knowledge is the personality section of the forum. Here you get advice about particular details regarding personalities - and if it is niclights who answers then you better listen carefully: he is the one who creates most of the personalities today.
